In winter the general-aviation ramps at Palm Beach International fill with business jets. The airport serves West Palm Beach and the Palm Beaches, and the season's traffic to Palm Beach, Wellington, and Jupiter makes it one of the more private-aviation-heavy commercial airports in the country. PBI is the airport for the northern end of South Florida.
The season
Full commercial service alongside intense seasonal private and corporate traffic. Winter and the Wellington equestrian season drive the demand, and in those months the date is the variable in the price. The season's jets are parked in rows.

As of mid-2026 the FBOs at Palm Beach include Jet Aviation, Atlantic Aviation, and Signature Aviation, clustered along the general-aviation side of the field. The winter's private-jet volume goes across their ramps.
Morrison Field, 1936
The airport opened in 1936 as Morrison Field, named for Grace Morrison, who helped organize the airfield. The first departure was an Eastern Air Lines DC-2 bound for New York. It was a major wartime air-transport base before it grew into Palm Beach International.
