Charter pricing is opaque on purpose. We track the empty-leg market, model what a charter costs, and publish both.
Who we are
Aelion LLC is a founder-run company based in California. We are building a regional private-aviation marketplace one region at a time. Today that is Southern California, Bay Area, New York Metro, and South Florida.
We are an air charter broker under 14 CFR Part 295. We do not operate aircraft. Every flight is flown by an FAA-certificated Part 135 carrier, and we name that carrier before you pay. The full version is on the broker disclosures page.
Where the market data comes from
Every empty leg on this site is listed by an operator or a marketplace, and each listing names its seller. Most sources refresh at least daily. Each market page shows when its data was last updated, and a listing that goes stale drops off on its own.
We measure each seller's checkout taxes and fees and include them, so the number on the page is the number at checkout. The few sellers we have not measured yet are marked “before taxes.” A published price that is obviously a placeholder is treated as no price at all.
How the cost estimator works
The estimator is a model built from published industry rate structures: hourly rates by class, billable time with the 2-hour daily minimum, repositioning, the fees layer, and federal excise tax. It never reads the scraped market data. The two numbers stay separate so that neither can bend the other. Every result is labeled an estimate and itemizes what drives it.
Content standards
A specific, checkable claim gets verified against a primary source before it is published, dated, and re-verified on a schedule. That covers airport histories, FBO lists, and named-model details. Where we could not verify something, we wrote less. Aircraft photos are licensed and credited on the page.
