Midsize Jet

Headroom is the difference, and it costs. A midsize trades some of the light jet's economy for more of everything else: a larger, usually stand-up cabin, more range, and room for a bigger group and their luggage. The pick when a light jet would feel tight: a full party of 6 to 9, a longer leg, or a trip where the extra cabin space is worth the added hourly cost. Most people walk the aisle upright, the tall ones with a tilt of the head.

In the cabin

More headroom, more elbow room, and enough baggage capacity for a real trip rather than a weekend bag apiece. The seats swivel and track, and two people can pass in the aisle if one turns sideways. There is a galley up front with a place to set a glass, and the lavatory at the back has a sink. It sits steadier in the chop than a light jet.

When it fits

For SoCal, a midsize earns its rate on the longer runs, or when the group is large enough that comfort, not cost, decides. A small party on a short hop is the mismatch, paying an hourly rate for headroom nobody stands up to use. A week's bags for the whole group go in without a count at the airstair.
